There was a lot of excitement around here this week with all the high school graduations. On Friday night alone, our community arts center hosted four local high school graduations. This makes me smile, not just because it reminds of how great it is to start a new phase of life, but because as a portrait photographer I get to know seniors, often when they are going into senior year and coming into an age where they get to define themselves. Before I shoot the first image of the student, I consult with them and learn about their likes, hobbies, interests and successes. Each senior is so distinct and unique. One client from the Class of 2016 looks like Jude Law! Another young man is an Eagle Scout. And another boy wanted to show his artistic side and brought an ensemble of outfits crammed into a gym bag. A lot of the young women want to highlight their skills, such as the musicians. Each young woman is so poised and impressive. These ladies are really going places. By getting to know each senior client, I can customize the experience of session photography and their photo shoot to suit them. As a result, the images really pop with the personality of each senior. I've been a professional photographer for many years, but only started the senior portfolio at my studio within the last five years. It has been so incredibly enriching as my photographic style has been influenced and inspired by the people I am working with when I am editing their images. I feel like I've grown too, similar to the way a senior grows toward their graduation. My enthusiasm must be showing because the popularity of Kat Mack Photography as the studio of choice for high school seniors and their parents has grown each year. We've truly grown with you, Class of 2016 as well as the preceding classes. We're enjoyed making you a part of a big family of seniors and getting to know your families too! We are so proud of what you've accomplished and what you will do next! This is my personal congratulations to you -- check out the video I edited to showcase the Class of '16. All the best, now and forever! Congrats, Kat.
